You are in business to make: MONEY. But where is it coming from? Where is it going? Who has it and who doesn't? How much is there to go around? And most importantly (if you're a capitalist like me)... how do I increase my fair share of it? Think about your hometown for a second. Each day, a specific amount of money changes hands for goods and services (at gas stations, hair salons, car dealerships, grocery stores, ad agencies, the list goes on). Likewise, there is a finite amount of money that remains 'unspent'. Basically, (in total) there is a limited amount of money available to any one business owner, on any particular day, in any given town. We're talking about real physical dollars here! So how are you going to get more dollars TODAY... than you got yesterday? The answer is cold, hard, and stunningly simple: You have to take them away from someone else! Welcome... to capitalism. You see, money is spent in this world whether we are there to see it or not... and somebody WILL get paid. In fact, in your home town, it is possible that FIVE people, TEN people or maybe even TWENTY people will get paid for the very same product or service!!! So as you plan your day, the question you have to ask yourself is: Will I be one of the twenty? Am I going to be at the right place at the right TIME? If twenty people (selling what I sell) WILL get paid today (no matter what)... how can I get paid TEN out of those twenty times? Money becomes a little less mysterious when you look at it in this 'birds eye view' kind of way. Just remember: 1. There is a limited amount of money being spent each day. The folks at BMW have come up with GINA, a car whose skin is made of fabric rather than metal. Now that's thinking outside of the box.

I believe in quality. When a company wants to advertise, they need to make sure that they do not cut corners. Cut corners in advertising translates into cut profits. That is why when looking to advertise--you don't look to see who can provide the cheapest service. When you look into hiring a company for advertising, you need to decipher which company truly understands who you are and what your stance is--and then translate this into a message that the public understands. I hate it when I see an advertisement that has only been done half way. I hate to watch a TV commercial with poor sound, poor visuals and no message other than, "Here's our phone number." This form of communication makes me feel a little weary. At thought, inc., we live by the, "Always doing the right thing is as important as always doing things right." That is the only way to fly my friend. Tags: Communication | Marketing | Advertising Hits: 428 | Read more... |
